BridgeClimb Sydney is the number-one tourist attraction in the country and provides Australian and international visitors with unique experiences on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
In 2018, SPG was contracted to manage the bid for Hammons Holdings and procure the Sydney Harbour BridgeClimb for the next 20 years. After a competitive tender process, which saw Hammons Holdings group awarded the lease over 12 other companies, they became the new concessionaire of Australia’s most popular and high-profile tourism attraction.
While the bid process was complex and thorough, the hard work had only just begun with a very short timeline given for Hammons Holdings to transition into becoming operational owners.
SPG also managed this phase of the project which involved intense staff engagement, contracting suppliers and employing over 200 staff members, whilst also organising and engaging with all internal and external stakeholders.
SPG successfully managed all stakeholder and client needs to deliver the final product – a streamlined business operating on the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge with zero disruption. SPG continues to work with BridgeClimb Sydney, delivering new and improved office spaces on Cumberland Street and helping to bring the original vision of Hammons Holdings through to realisation.
SPG also managed HRH Prince Harry and Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s climb with Invictus athletes to raise the flag to mark the beginning of the Invictus Games in 2018.
SPG has a firm commitment to the safety and security of all organisations they engage with and has worked with Hammons Holdings to extensively research and develop a robust safety infrastructure for the business that includes a new, safer cross body harness for climbers.
